Phone & Device Repairs

What devices do you repair?

We repair a wide range of smartphones, tablets, laptops, computers and other electronic devices. This includes popular brands such as Apple iPhone, Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel. If your device or repair is not listed on our website, contact us — there is a good chance we can still help.

What types of repairs do you offer?

We carry out screen replacements, battery replacements, charging port repairs, back glass replacements, camera repairs, speaker and microphone repairs, button and flex cable repairs, liquid damage diagnostics, motherboard and board-level repairs, software troubleshooting, and laptop and PC servicing.

Do I need to book an appointment?

No. Walk-ins are welcome at our store at 454 Kingsland Road, London, E8 4AE. You can also book your repair online before visiting us.

How long does a phone repair take?

Many common repairs, such as screen and battery replacements, can be completed the same day and in some cases while you wait. More complicated repairs, liquid damage, motherboard work or repairs requiring specially ordered parts may take longer.

Can you repair my phone while I wait?

For many common repairs, yes. The exact repair time depends on the device, fault, part availability and condition of the device.

Screens & Replacement Parts

Do you use genuine parts?

Where available, we can offer genuine manufacturer parts for selected devices and repairs. Depending on the device, we may also offer premium aftermarket OLED and more affordable aftermarket LCD screens. We will explain the available options and prices before carrying out the repair.

What is the difference between LCD, OLED and genuine screens?

The main differences are display quality, brightness, colour reproduction, power consumption, durability and price. A genuine manufacturer screen generally provides the closest experience to the screen originally fitted to the device. Premium OLED replacements can provide excellent display quality at a lower price. Budget LCD replacements are the most affordable option but may differ noticeably from the original display.

Will I lose True Tone after an iPhone screen replacement?

This depends on the iPhone model, replacement screen and repair method. Where technically possible, we take appropriate steps to retain or restore supported display functionality. Some aftermarket parts or device configurations may affect features such as True Tone or generate a parts notification within iOS.

Will Face ID still work after my screen replacement?

A standard screen replacement should not normally require replacing the components responsible for Face ID. If Face ID is working before the repair, we take appropriate care to preserve the original components.

Prices & Quotations

How much will my repair cost?

Prices depend on the device, repair and type of replacement part selected. You can check many of our repair prices on our website or contact us for a quotation. Some faults require physical diagnosis before a final price can be confirmed.

Will you charge me more than the quoted price?

We will not normally carry out additional chargeable work without discussing it with you first. If diagnosis reveals additional faults, we will explain what we have found and provide a revised price before proceeding with additional work.

Do I have to proceed after you diagnose my device?

No. If additional repairs are required, we will explain your options and you can decide whether you want to proceed. Any diagnostic charge agreed beforehand may still be payable.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash and supported debit/credit card payments in store.

Warranty

Do your repairs come with a warranty?

Eligible repairs come with a limited Smart Fix Plus repair warranty. The applicable warranty period and coverage depend on the repair and replacement part used and will be confirmed with your repair. Our warranty is in addition to your statutory consumer rights.

What does the repair warranty cover?

Our repair warranty generally covers qualifying defects relating to the replacement part supplied or the repair work carried out by Smart Fix Plus.

What is not covered by the repair warranty?

Our voluntary warranty does not cover subsequent accidental or physical damage, cracked components, liquid damage, misuse, new or unrelated faults, or damage caused after another repairer has opened or worked on the device. We will inspect the device if there is any question about whether a problem relates to the original repair.

Liquid Damage

My phone has been dropped in water. Can you repair it?

Potentially, yes. Liquid-damaged devices should be inspected as soon as possible. Liquid can cause corrosion and damage multiple components inside a device. We will inspect the device and advise you on the available repair options.

Should I put a wet phone in rice?

No. Rice does not remove corrosion or properly clean liquid contamination from inside the device. Switch the device off if possible, avoid charging it and bring it to us for inspection as soon as you can.

Can you guarantee a liquid-damaged phone will work again?

Unfortunately, no. Liquid damage can affect several components and corrosion can continue developing after the original exposure. We can clean, diagnose and repair affected components where possible, but additional problems may sometimes become apparent during or after the repair process.

Data & Privacy

Will I lose my data during a repair?

Most hardware repairs do not require us to erase your data. However, data cannot be guaranteed, particularly with severely damaged devices, motherboard faults, storage problems or liquid damage. We strongly recommend backing up important data before any repair whenever possible.

Do you need my phone passcode?

Not for every repair. However, we may need access to the device to properly test functions such as the touchscreen, cameras, speakers, microphones, charging, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and mobile network after completing a repair. If you do not want to provide your passcode, tell us; our ability to fully test the device may be limited.

Will you look through my photos or messages?

No. We do not access customers’ personal content unnecessarily. If access to the device is required, it is for legitimate diagnostic and testing purposes relevant to the repair.

More detail is available in our Privacy Policy and Data Deletion instructions.

Collection & Repair Updates

How will I know when my device is ready?

We will contact you using the contact details provided with your repair booking. Smart Fix Plus may send repair notifications through WhatsApp, including confirmation that your device has been booked in and notification when it is ready for collection.

Can somebody else collect my device?

Yes, but please let us know beforehand. For security, we may ask for the repair/job number, proof of collection or confirmation from the person who booked the repair before releasing the device.

What happens if I cannot collect my device immediately?

That is usually fine. Contact us if you know there will be a significant delay. We may contact you periodically if a completed device remains uncollected for an extended period.

Do you repair laptops and computers?

Yes. We can diagnose and repair various laptop and computer problems as well as provide maintenance and servicing.
